What does AUBIKA think of VR?

Our company AUBIKA has grown quickly since its creation in 2019 through delivering high quality VR accessories at affordable prices. Founded by electrical engineer Adrian Zhang, we see VR as playing an increasingly big part in people's everyday lives in the future and here’s why.

Virtual reality has the ability to drastically change the world for the better. The level of immersion, interaction and sense of presence that VR offers has the power to transform how we do things across all areas of our lives, from work and education, to fitness and leisure.

For example, when it comes to the workplace, instead of meeting with colleagues online via 2D video chat, VR will enable users to enter a hyper-realistic 3D environment where their personal avatars can interact with each other and collaborate on projects virtually. Difficult or dangerous workplace training could also be carried out in VR, allowing trainees to have a realistic training experience with none of the risk.

New areas of industry might also open up like virtual tourism, providing the opportunity for people to visit the location of their choice at a fraction of the real life cost. With VR you could be relaxing in Hawaii one minute then taking in the wonders of planet Mars the next. This might open up new worlds and experiences that were once considered out-of-reach for those living with disability too. Whether it be the thrill of climbing a mountain or taking a hike along the Inca Trail, VR could make this possible.

We can also see VR increasing overall health through games like Beat Saber that make fitness fun. These experiences could motivate more people to get healthy, particularly those who dislike doing more traditional forms of exercise like working out at the gym. The potential is seemingly endless and it looks like the adoption of VR is set to increase dramatically as more people begin to realise the possibilities.

Virtual reality is expected to grow exponentially over the next few years. VR is not new, the existence of VR headset devices can be traced back as early as the 1960s, but it has only been in the last decade or so that it has started to really take off due to advances in technology. According to Explorer Research, the VR industry is expected to become mainstream in the next 2-4 years and grow from $6.1 billion in 2020, to an impressive $84.1 billion by the year 2028.

It is not surprising then that we see tech giants like Meta (formerly known as Facebook), Microsoft, Sony and possibly even Apple developing VR hardware to capitalise on this upcoming mass adoption. With this kind of backing and with the increasing competition in this space, we are likely to see rapid innovations in VR over the coming years.

These recently unveiled prototype VR headsets by Meta are just one example of where VR technology is headed. These prototypes aim to create displays with visuals as realistic as the physical world, but contained within a headset that’s more lightweight and thinner than anything we have seen before. This innovation will lead VR headsets to become cheaper, lighter, and more capable, which will ultimately drive greater adoption as the technology becomes more appealing for consumers.

This is why we at AUBIKA believe VR is a fast evolving platform with a very bright future ahead.

Our ongoing passion and belief in VR has led to our continued mission to design and produce innovative, affordable and high quality VR accessories that can be enjoyed by all VR users.
